Registering for Spring Semester at UConnIt’s hard to believe that October 22 is the opening day for registering for the Spring 2019 semester at UConn! As most college students know, choosing classes in college is a lot different than in high school. HuskyTHON’s 18-Hour Dance Marathon to Help Kids

HuskyThonRepresenting a variety of organizations across the UConn campus, thousands of students will gather in Hugh S. Greer Field House at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 18 for an 18-hour weekend-long dance marathon. All year, students have joined teams and organized fundraisers to help raise money for the children and families at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. This marathon serves as the apex for the year’s worth of student-run fundraisers by HuskyTHON.

Students have the option to become a dancer, morale captain, or volunteer for the event. For the people who can’t constantly dance through the night, a “Morale Corner” is set up where the morale captains will be teaching a dance to exhausted students and trying to keep them energized throughout the night. The morale captains will take the floor and dance to a number of hit songs at the top of every hour throughout the event. (more…)

winter breakWinter breaks offer incredible advantages to college students, whether it is time to catch up on all the TV shows that have been missed or time to prepare for the important months ahead. The truth is, this may be one of the last times that seniors will have a large chunk of “time off”.  So, how to celebrate this little bit of freedom? We have compiled a list of ways to make the most of winter break!

  1. Enroll in winter session courses: UCONN currently offers students up to four courses throughout the winter break. This is an amazing opportunity for students to catch up on required hours or enroll in courses they normally wouldn’t take based on time shortage. UCONN Dominates on the Court and Off

basketballThe diversified amount of opportunities a student gets while attending The University of Connecticut is unbelievable. Not only do they offer career development assistance, but they also have numerous organizations and groups to become involved with. Another top reason to attend UConn is the sports. The sports teams within the University keep the spirits high and the atmosphere alive. With the collegiate basketball season upon us, it’s only appropriate to mention the incredible University of Connecticut Huskies women’s and men’s basketball teams.

The best basketball programs in the country are teams that have a history built on excellence and a future accordingly bright. The Huskies hold four national championships, all of which came in the past 16 years. (more…)

CTBest Hosts International Meet and Greet for Students at Morgan Manor

CTBest Hosts International Meet and Greet for UConn Students at Morgan Manor A new school year means a new schedule, new friends and learning a lot of new things. For some students, a new school year means moving to a whole new country. And while new adventures are always exciting, sometimes they can be a little intimidating. To help make the transition a little easier for those students, CTBest recently held an International Meet and Greet at the Morgan Manor apartments.

Everyone living at Morgan Manor was invited to attend the Aug. 26 event, and nearly 100 students from the University of Connecticut-Stamford dropped by the Community Room to meet their new neighbors and classmates. (more…)

UCONN near Stamford ApartmentsAs a student, meeting the neighbors in your apartment community and making new connections is an important part of the college experience! CTBestApts is excited to be hosting a meet and greet session for our student residents of the University of Connecticut this Friday, Aug. 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Community Room of our Morgan Manor apartment community in Stamford.

Aside from having an opportunity to get acquainted with your new classmates and neighbors from Morgan Manor, Hoyt Bedford, The Townhouse Apartments (65 and 77 Prospect Street), you can also look forward to enjoying delicious appetizers and beverages with your fellow Huskies.
