Separating Space in a Studio Apartment

When considering renting a studio apartment, one of the biggest concerns is space. Studio apartments typically consist of a bathroom and one large multipurpose room that serves as the bedroom, kitchen and living room. The studio layout, while extremely open, can often seem strange after living in a traditional home, and many studio renters prefer to separate the space. While simple room dividers or partition walls can do the trick, here are a few creative ways to not only separate the space, but also maximize it:

Use Bookshelves

One of the easiest ways to separate space is to use a bookshelf. Placing bookshelves perpendicular to a wall to divide the living space is an effective way to partition off the space and also provide extra storage for the apartment. Extra storage space is essential in smaller studio apartments, so having a piece of furniture that serves two functions is ideal.
