I am so excited to share this little tidbit with you all! The Annual Northeast PEZ® Collectors Gathering is taking place right here in downtown Stamford next month! It’s being held at the Holiday Inn on Main Street, about 3 blocks from our Townhouse Stamford apartments on Prospect Street, and it runs from April 7 – 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PEZ® has been around for more than 50 years, and while you probably have at least one somewhere in your home, I’ll bet you didn’t know that they are made right here in Connecticut! How cool is that?!

While the original candies were mints and marketed to adults as an alternative to smoking, the candy and the dispensers have become an iconic part of childhood in America. The candy flavors have been expanded over the years and now include such varieties as fruit flavors, sourz and even cola flavored candies. The dispensers have literally hundreds of designs to choose from.

At the upcoming PEZ® Gathering, you’ll find collectors from all over the country seeking to compete, sell, display and share their own collections. There’s going to be a children’s costume contest, a silent auction with proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish® and Hole-In-The-Wall foundations, and dozens of dealers seeking to sell, swap or trade their Pez-wares.
