This Weekend, Everyone is Irish – St. Patrick’s Day Events around CTBest Apartments

Weekend Guide to St.Patrick's DayThe largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in Fairfield County may have already marched away, but that doesn’t mean the celebrations are over in Stamford, Norwalk and Branford! Guinness and green beer are sure to be flowing at most bars around town, but that’s not the only way to celebrate! From live music and Celtic dance performances to 5k’s and delicious food, there are plenty of opportunities for our residents to have a wee bit of fun this St. Patrick’s Day.

Irish Parties, Parades and 5K’s

Celtic Angles (Stamford): Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. grab your seat at The Palace Theatre as young stars of Celtic Angels Ireland spread their cherished heritage through Irish dance, music, and song. This is an amazing performance sure to leave you breathless! Tickets ranges from $20 to $40 and seats sell out fast!

Shenanigans Irish Festival at Stony Creek (Branford): This Friday, March 16, Stony Creek in Branford will celebrate its first annual Shenanigan’s Irish Festival from 12 noon until 8 p.m. The day will be filled with live music, games, dancing, food, fun, friends, and of course, delicious beer! Tickets are $20 and include entry to the celebration, your first beer and a commemorative stein.

Shamrock Stroll (Stamford): Calling all runners, walkers, strollers! The 7th Annual Harbor Point Shamrock Stroll 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place Saturday, March 16 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tickets are free but registration is required. This is a fun run/walk event for all ages and prizes are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

LepreCON at Tigin Stamford (downtown Stamford): This Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, popular Tigin Irish Pub and Restaurant is hosting the ultimate St. Patrick’s Day party! An outdoor tent, live DJ and music, food and drink specials, and much more – this venue offers it all! Limited tickets are available online.

Mystic Irish Parade (Mystic): Just because St. Patrick’s Day is over, doesn’t mean the fun is! On Sunday, March 24, gather in Mystic for the historic 16th annual parade. This celebration of Irish culture features 2,000 participants as well as classic antique cars, high school area bands and local Scout troops.

Corned beef!  Guinness!  Carbombs!  Let’s be honest, March 17 is as much about the delicious food and drinks as it is about St. Patrick. Connecticut restaurants, bars, and venues will be serving up plenty of Irish-themed specials in honor of the holiday. Get out your green, and head to these 45+ spots!
