The American Red Cross are just one way to give back in Stamford this holiday season.

There are many opportunities for residents of Stamford rental apartments to enjoy the season by lending a hand to those less fortunate. The Stamford Apartments Leasing Center at 112 Hoyt Street is holding a food drive for our local food bank.

There are lots of other chances for giving back in Stamford. Saint Luke’s LifeWorks, the Stamford center for children, is holding its 22^nd annual Holiday Gift collection for more than 2,500 children affected by poverty and/or disease living in Fairfield County. Animal lovers have options to give back to either PAWs Connecticut or Outreach to Pets in Need through local shops and restaurants giving percentages back to charity. Local banks and churches are holding toy drives, and the sidewalk Santas are already out ringing their bells to give you the convenience of giving on the go.

While contributions to any of these or other charitable efforts are always welcomed, your time, personal efforts and talents are welcomed even more. This time of year budgets never seem to go as far as charities need them to. Lending a hand or an hour of your time costs nothing, but can be priceless to those in need. The American Red Cross can always use whatever time you can offer, and are just a walk up Prospect Street for Townhouse apartments residents.
