Kickoff the Super Bowl with These Party Tips

Kickoff the Super Bowl with These Party Tips

Super Bowl 52 is rapidly approaching and it’s time to start planning your party. There are generally three main reasons everyone loves the Super Bowl; the game, the food and the party. Whether you’re cheering on your favorite team or gathering around for the commercials, this is a great opportunity to have friends and family over to your apartment.

We have put together some great advice on decorations, food, drinks and seating for the Big Game. First, remember that hosting a party at an apartment is much different from hosting on in a house. Contact your landlord and neighbors as common courtesy to let them know you are having guests over.

The screen is the most important decoration in your home during the Super Bowl. In this case, the bigger the better! However, it’s crucial that nothing is blocking the view of the screen. Decorating your home in team colors and having balloons and streamers will make your apartment look nice; just make sure the T.V. is free of distractions.

Turn any tabletop into a football field in just a few easy steps and dress your table up with themed party supplies for a rush of a good time. A few enhancements around your new home such as a “Locker Room” sign on the bathroom door or football paper chains hanging throughout your home could add to the Super Bowl flare!

Not all of us are fortunate enough to have expansive couches for ten. An affordable and easy solution is floor cushions or pallets of blankets, guests can sit, lie, or throw across them room. It’s also possible to bring kitchen/dining seating into the living room. Depending on your party size and how they are comfortable.

There’s a good chance that a lot of the people at your party are not there to watch the game. They are there to indulge in snacks galore. Make sure you have a spread of both salty and sweet combined with classic Super Bowl snacks like wings and dips. Include the party basics, but don’t be afraid to get creative.

  • There are numerous ways to form a snack stadium that will feature every finger food you want it to! Dishes from seven-layer dips to fruit and veggies to the ultimate stadium that feeds a whole crowd stacked with chips, sandwiches, candies and more!
  • Always offer a couple of different dips so that guests have plenty to choose from. Not all party dips are created equal. There are traditional French onion and salsa, but you can also tantalize your taste buds with smoky chipotle and bacon guacamole, spicy hummus and caramelized onion dip.
  • If you need a snack that can be made in less than a minute, try some of these quick and easy treats. Sometimes all you need is a Ritz cracker, chocolate frosting and white icing to make a snack for guest to nervously munch on before half-time!
  • A tasty finger food that is expected at a Super Bowl party is chicken wings. These delicious appetizers are extremely versatile in flavors and can be served with a variety of dips.
  • Giving something common, such as candy, a name and displaying it in a unique way makes a huge difference for your guests. Check out these time-out treats and you’ll understand!
  • Other appetizers that can easily be thrown together are mini pizzas, soft pretzels, burgers, hot dogs, nachos and mozzarella sticks.

Get creative with a signature, team-oriented cocktail, or rival cocktails. Beer and Beergaritas are a Big Game favorite for enjoying the Super Bowl. You can always add to the décor of your party by dressing up your drinks by field marking the cups and adding goal post straws!

Finding a place for a cooler with ice and cold beers is a brilliant idea. This keeps guests from having to constantly run to the kitchen for a refill. Of course, offer equally festive non-alcoholic options as well. For frequent water breaks, consider providing a big cooler decorated with a stenciled “water break” sign.

Having some extra games for your guests to play is fun for everyone to do something together in an interactive way. For a fun game to play throughout the entire game, try commercial bingo. If you want to take it up a notch, open bets for the score and winner predictions of the Super Bowl. Half-time is a hit and miss for many guests; some people love the show, some would rather not watch it. For those wanting to stretch their legs and have some friendly competition of their own, there are many hilarious minute-to-win-it type games to entertain everyone.
