Joining a Club to Get Involved

Join a ClubLiving in a college town has distinct perks, like having access to public transportation, great libraries and other off-campus events. Our residents who are students at the nearby colleges have additional access to a wide array of clubs and organizations that enhance their studies, social lives and feeling of community involvement.

Joining groups of like-minded people, no matter the affinity has big benefits. New students learning to live away from home can make fast friends by hooking up with people who share interests. Participating outside the classroom can also reveal areas of interest previously unexplored. Additionally, they provide a network of people who can become social, academic or professional support systems. Because Stamford is such a thriving community, on-campus clubs aren’t the only game in town, either.

For students who live off campus, getting involved shrinks the campus and opens opportunities. The school offers a website designed to connect students with existing groups they’re interested in trying. They have everything from a 3-D printing club to an Accounting Society. Students can search by area of interest or activity, from the arts to sciences, from performing to playing sports.

For our residents who aren’t students, Stamford offers a host of other ways to get involved and a quick browse through events and meet ups this month reveals the diversity of interests available in a city so packed with academics. There is something for everyone. Cyclists, Professional Women, Dancing, active friends, even “new to Stamford” groups are meeting in July.

We know that our apartment homes at 77 & 65 Prospect Street, Morgan Manor and Hoyt Bedford make great homes for students, non-students and families. We hope that each of our residents finds ways to explore the city, make new friends and learn new things. Thankfully, Stamford is full of opportunities for that.
