This summer’s agenda is packed with fun things to do around town and the Hamden Farmers Market is something that should be on your list. The market is centrally located near Hamden, Ct. apartments in the Miller Library’s lower parking lot at 2901 Dixwell Avenue. The market recently opened on June 28 and will run through October 4, on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Hamden Farmers Market is the perfect opportunity to support your local growers and businesses. Spice up your grocery shopping with locally grown produce, delectable prepared foods, baked goods, handcrafted accessories and homemade necessities. Over 25 local vendors have joined forces with the market, so there will be a wide variety of fresh goodies for everyone.
This year’s market allows you to make grocery shopping fun for the entire family. Face painting and an arts and crafts station will be provided by Hamden Youth Services and local artists. Additionally, the Experience Corps will be providing free children’s books to entertain and engage the young ones.
Adjacent to the market is the town of Hamden’s brand new, 7,000 square foot, all-abilities playground, “Josh’s Jungle.” The playground is located in Town Center Park and will be opening in early July.
Don’t miss out on the farm-fresh produce, baked goods and more. This outdoor market is one of Hamden’s favorite traditions and seems to get better every year. For more information about the Hamden Farmers Market, visit here.
