Residents of downtown Stamford, Ct. apartments will have a familiar place to visit for the latest bestsellers when Barrett Bookstore celebrates its grand re-opening this Saturday, September 7. Since opening on Broad Street in 1939, Fairfield County’s oldest independent bookstore has seen a lot of changes over the years including a move to its current location at Noroton Heights Shopping Center in 1989.
When customers visit the newly opened store they will notice several changes including a more open layout that creates a more inviting space. Additional highlights include a special area for middle readers and a cherry library case that will contain a collection of modern first editions. Hosting author signings and book club gatherings will be much easier with a space that can be easily converted for special events.
Old and new customers are invited to stop by Barrett Bookstore this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and check out the renovations. Grand opening visitors will receive 10 percent off any purchase and will have the opportunity to enter their name for a fantastic raffle prize including:
- One Advance Reader Copy each month for a year.
- Penguin boxed set of your favorite upcoming books.
- Three Advance Reader Copies.
- A chance to have a special Skype chat with an author (prize for book groups).
