July is right around the corner, so what does that mean? It’s almost National Ice Cream Month! This month-long “holiday” dates back to 1984, when President Ronald Reagan recognized ice cream as a “fun and nutritious food.” It is after this declaration that he called for the people of the United States to follow through with the month-long ice cream celebration and encouraged citizens to partake in “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” Soon thereafter, the International Ice Cream Association (IICA) was established and they now encourage US consumers and retailers to celebrate National Ice Cream Month, and even more specifically designated a National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, July 21, 2013.
This July, residents of Connecticut apartments will have several fun opportunities to start off the summer with some cool, sweet treats.
Stamford, Ct. apartment communities, Morgan Manor, Hoyt Bedford and The Townhouse, are kicking off the 4th of July celebration early. On Wednesday, July 3, residents are invited to stop by the Leasing Center at 112 Hoyt Street from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for a tasty snack. During that time, an ice cream stand will be located right in front of the office offering festive popsicles and ice cream treats.
On Saturday, July 13, residents of apartments at Seramonte in Hamden, Ct. are invited to a pool party from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees can spend the evening celebrating summer with a trip to the pool and a yummy ice cream dessert.
