A Wee Bit of St. Patrick’s Day Fun around CTBest Apartments

st patrick's dayThe St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Stamford may have already come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the celebrations are over in Fairfield County. From more parades to Irish food, there are plenty of opportunities left for our residents to have a wee bit of fun this St. Patrick’s Day.

Irish Parties and Parades

St. Patrick’s Day block party (downtown Stamford): This Saturday, March 17, Tigin Irish Pub is shutting down the area behind the pub and bringing in a full slate of live bands and plenty of outdoor bars. Plus, tons of Guinness and Irish whiskey.

Greenwich St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Greenwich):  The Greenwich Hibernian Association keeps the St. Patrick’s Day celebration going with its annual Greenwich Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m. This year’s parade will begin at Greenwich Town Hall and make its way down Greenwich Avenue. Make sure to arrive early for a good seat!

Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Bridgeport): On Friday, March 16, head to Bridgeport for an absolute classic in Fairfield County. Participants are encouraged to line the streets with green attire to celebrate Irish heritage and have a grand old time.

Mystic Irish Parade (Mystic): Just because St. Patrick’s Day is over, doesn’t mean the fun is! On Sunday, March 15, gather in Mystic for the historic 15th annual parade. This celebration of Irish culture features 2,000 participants as well as classic antique cars, high school area bands and local Scout troops.

Irish Food

Corned beef!  Guinness!  Carbombs!  Let’s be honest, March 17 is as much about the delicious food and drinks as it is about St. Patrick. Connecticut restaurants, bars, and venues will be serving up plenty of Irish-themed specials in honor of the holiday. Get out your green, and head to these 50+ spots! Here is a list of participating restaurants in the area.
