Our Stamford Rental Apartments Residents Can Enjoy a Classic Car Show this Saturday

Stamford Museum and Nature Center Car Show

Residents of our Stamford apartments can enjoy the ninth annual classic car show this Saturday at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center

This Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, there will be the ninth annual Model Ts to Mustangs Antique and Classic Car Show. Residents of our Stamford apartments for rent should check it out, as this year’s focus is on the Studebaker, a now-defunct automobile pioneer with amazing car designs. There will also be a wide variety of other classic vehicles from the turn of the century to 1979 on display. The event is free to museum members and is part of museum admission for non-members.

The focus this year is on the Studebaker, a brand which dates back to the 1800s when it built carriages and wagons. The first Studebaker automobile was an electric car in 1902. Shortly after, they began to release gas-powered vehicles. The car designs were extremely popular following the first World War, but competition proved costly. The company diversified away from automobiles with the last car being made in 1966.There will be nine Studebaker cars at the show on Saturday, including two 1953 Starlight Coupes, a one-off 1953 Starliner Convertible and a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk. Houseplant health benefits

Add houseplants to your Norwalk apartment for cleaner air and beautiful accessories.

All around Norwalk, one can see signs of spring in many of the well-tended parks. Here at the Morningside Gardens Norwalk apartments on Prospect Street, we’ve been hard at work with building maintenance, tree pruning, spreading new mulch and planting the flower beds. Very soon, residents and visitors will be able to see the lovely plantings in full bloom.

You don’t have to leave all that loveliness outdoors. You can grow some of your own greenery that will not only look lovely, but actually provide real health benefits to you and your family. According to a University of Agriculture in Norway study, indoor plants can reduce colds and related illnesses by more than 30 percent by increasing a home’s humidity levels and decreasing dust. Another benefit is that houseplants give off special compounds that cut down on the bacteria and spores that cause mold. The best mold stoppers are the peace lily, bamboo and spider plant. Each of these plants is conveniently low-maintenance and do well in the low light and humid environment of most bathrooms! (more…)

Ways for Branford apartment rental residents to enjoy April Blooms

The state flower of Connecticut

Be on the lookout for the State Flower to be blooming soon!

As any resident of our Branford apartment rentals can tell you, the spring flower bloom season gains momentum once April arrives. If you are a fan of exploring the gorgeous blossoms all around Branford, there are many opportunities to learn more about the beautiful plants. One of our favorites is the aptly named Types of Flowers.org website, which has a handy image guide as well. This site is especially useful as it won’t be long before the area is decorated with the vibrant colors of its native flowers.

An interesting fact about the State of Connecticut is that we didn’t have an official state flower until 1907, when the Mountain Laurel was declared as one of our state symbols. We can look forward to seeing some Mountain Laurel blossoms soon, as they bloom during it is during mid-spring. The Mountain Laurel gives off an enjoyable fragrance and richness, and the white to purple color of the flowers are perhaps the most beautiful of shrubs native to America. (more…)
